When you visit a U Weight Loss Clinic for the first time, a Certified U Weight Loss Health Coach will meet with you to complete your personalized Healthy Weight Analysis which includes the following:

1. Health History Assessment
Your health history is important to your weight loss success. Our Certified Health Coaches need to understand how your medications and past or current health conditions and allergies may be contributing to your weight challenges. This is a good starting point to help us determine if the U Weight Loss program is right for you.

2. Biomarkers of Health
Before your consultation with one of our Health Coaches, you’ll have some assessments taken of your current weight, the amount of body fat you’re carrying and other values to create a Metabolic Profile. This helps us understand your unique needs, in order to design a program just for you.

2. One-on-one Consultation
The last step in the process consists of a consultation with a Health Coach to assess how your lifestyle, diet, health conditions and medications may be affecting your weight. We take your weight loss goals and your commitment to achieving this into consideration. At the end of this consultation, you’ll be presented with your personalized program outline detailing your nutritional requirements, recommended nutritional supplements, exercise and lifestyle modifications, and the number of one-on-one coaching sessions needed to help you reach your weight loss and health goals.

The Healthy Weight Analysis is absolutely free of charge and, regardless of whether you decide to join the U Weight Loss program or not, you will receive valuable information regarding weight loss and health.

The cost of our fully personalized programs depends on your individual weight loss needs. We recommend you book in for a free initial assessment to determine if our program is a fit for you. Following your free initial assessment, a certified health coach will determine your healthy weight range and the program personalized to your needs.  Unlike other programs, we take your weight loss seriously and take into account your health history, current weight, previous weight loss attempts, biomarkers of health, level of activity and your age. Programs vary in length from 3 months, 6 months and 12 months.

The U Weight Loss programs are affordable and we offer a number of payment options to make them even more accessible, including financing and a low monthly payment structure. We also frequently offer savings on the coaching service and products as part of our customer appreciation program.

Although your caloric intake will likely be reduced, it’s unlikely that you will feel hungry on the U Weight Loss program. We have a rich selection of recipes and meal plans, with a wide variety of foods to satisfy your taste buds and keep you feeling full. Our meal plans also incorporate plenty of high-fibre and high-protein foods meant to keep you satiated, even while consuming fewer calories than normal.

 

If you’re not used to eating this way, the first week of the program may be challenging, as you adjust your eating habits and macronutrient ratios in order to reduce calories. However, by the end of the first week you should experience a high amount of energy, have control over your cravings, be increasingly satisfied after meals, and be more in control of what you eat. You’ll also start losing weight and be on your way to long-lasting weight loss.

A Personalized Nutrition Plan is one that takes into consideration not only your dietary needs but also your preferences. Our recipe database contains thousands of options that can easily be tailored to suit your desires. We offer high-fibre, low-sodium and/or low-cholesterol options for those concerned with their consumption levels of each. As well, we have easy ways to search out recipes containing your favourite foods, and have programs that can help you create your own recipes following the U Weight Loss balanced eating guidelines. Of course you can eat out while on the program. The question then becomes: what and from where? The U Weight Loss program offers a wide variety of fast food menu options to choose from, while our Health Coaches would also be happy to personally select the best options for you on a restaurant-to-restaurant basis (just provide them with the menu in question to review with our nutritionists). In addition, our knowledgeable managers and coaches can offer tips on the healthiest options to eat when on the go and can discuss with you the importance of portion sizes and how to judge them when eating out.

The length of time clients need to be on the program is dependent on the amount of weight loss desired. This is determined during the  Healthy Weight Analysis. The purpose of the U Weight Loss program is to assist you with reaching your ideal healthy weight and maintaining that weight over the long term. The length of your program will be determined by keeping these objectives in mind.

The exercise program at U Weight Loss is progressive and customized based on your current level of activity and fitness. We have programs that range from beginner to more advanced fitness levels. Most clients start out with a low-impact walking program at least two times a week and then advance their exercise as their weight loss program progresses.

During your personalized Healthy Weight Analysis, your Health Coach will determine, upon consultation with our health and medical team, if a doctor’s consultation is necessary before you are able to begin the program.
